In this role, you will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and playing an important part in the UK/Ireland energy transition.This role offers an excellent opportunity for a talented individual who want to take the next step in their career and take responsibility for projects from inception through to completion.Key responsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, civil, and mechanical engineers, to achieve high-quality and integrated design solutions.Build and lead a high-performing design team for EHV/HV projects.Lead Design Management requirements and allocate resources as appropriate during FEED and detailed design stages.Integrate multiple engineering teams including Substations, Protection and Control, OHL, Cables and Civils.Ensure design alignment with project goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout project stages from concept to commissioning.Manage compliance with Standards and Client requirements and assist in monitoring to ensure working to standard requirements.Provide regular progress reports to project leadership, highlighting design challenges, proposed solutions, and milestones achieved.Define project scopes and manage detailed design during construction including management of Owners engineer/construction monitoring/supervision rolesHere's what you'll needA degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered statusExperience managing multi-disciplinary design energy team.Relevant, professional experience in HV and EHV project designsExperience in delivering projects for Transmission Service Operators (ESB, EirGrid, SSEN, National Grid, Scottish Power Energy Networks) is preferred, including management of Owners engineer/construction monitoring/supervision roles.Joining Jacobs not only connects you locally but globally.
