The Role
The Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer will assist the Group Quality Manager with the implementation of the Quality Management System across the GMC Portfolio of projects. The QA/QC Engineer will implement and maintain project quality systems, ensuring compliance with client, regulatory, and internal standards. Working closely with project teams, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement, quality assurance, and best practice across all civil and utility works.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
* Assist with the development and implementation of the GMC Quality Management System.
* Gain a thorough understanding of the clients Quality Standards, specs and requirements within your area of responsibility.
* Assist with the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists etc. to ensure QA compliance.
* Become a subject matter expert of all QA/QC processes and provide guidance and training to project teams on same.
* Assist with developing Technical Bulletins and Toolbox Talks to raise awareness and communication of QA/QC items.
Quality Control
* Assist the project team with all QA/QC requirements.
* Liaise with testing laboratories and compile material test results.
* Conduct scheduled site visits and audits to ensure quality standards are upheld.
* Ensure corrective actions are closed out in a timely manner when identified in audits.
* Ensure quality records are maintained throughout the construction lifecycle.
* Prepare quality documentation for tender submissions, including Quality Management Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
* Assist with the project close out including project Safety Files where required in your area of responsibility.
* Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies
* Relevant Engineering Qualification / Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Quality or Engineering (civil, utilities, or construction experience highly desirable).
* Full clean driver's licence essential.
* Strong technical and analytical skills with proven report writing ability.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong IT proficiency (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
