Our client, a reputable and growing company in Cork, is looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant to join their highly professional finance team. This is a permanent role that offers a very competitive salary, hybrid/remote working and benefits.
The Commercial Accountant will be a key contributor to the finance function, providing high-quality financial insight and commercial support to senior leadership and operational teams. The role is highly business-facing, with a strong emphasis on driving profitability, supporting strategic decision-making, and improving overall financial performance.
The Role:
* Provide robust commercial and financial analysis to support business strategy and decision-making
* Prepare, analyse, and present monthly management accounts and performance reports
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities
* Analyse margins, pricing models, cost structures, and operational efficiencies
* Deliver financial input into capital expenditure proposals and investment appraisals
* Act as a finance business partner to commercial and operational stakeholders
* Identify financial risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls
* Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting for senior management
Requirements:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Approximately 3–6+ years' post-qualification experience in a commercial finance role
* Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated business partnering experience
* Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability
* Background in manufacturing, energy, industrial, or capital-intensive environments is highly advantageous
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, operational setting
* Experience within regulated or capital-intensive industries
* Strong knowledge of cost accounting and margin analysis
* Exposure to ERP systems
