Job Title: Clinical Director for Surgical Research and Innovation
Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director to lead our Surgical Research and Innovation programme.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan for our Surgical Trials and Research network, working closely with our National Surgical Research Support Centre team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a comprehensive strategic plan to drive the success of our Surgical Trials and Research network
* Lead the development and implementation of research and funding strategies for the network
* Establish governance structures and quality assurance processes for the network
* Integrate clinical trials and research across hospital groups on an all-island basis
* Foster collaboration and innovation among surgeons and researchers
* Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the network's goals
* Build partnerships with international institutes to advance surgical research
Requirements
* Consultant Surgeon experience with a proven track record in leading research studies
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of healthcare and clinical trial infrastructure in Ireland
* Fellowship of RCSI (in good standing)
* NFQ Level 10 qualification (PhD or MD by research)
* Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility
