Senior Accountant Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team.
About the Role
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
1. Key Responsibilities:
o Payroll Management: Oversee and process payroll for multiple clients, ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and deadlines, manage payroll-related queries and reporting.
o Tax Compliance: Prepare and file returns for various tax heads including Income Tax, PAYE/PRSI, VAT, Corporation Tax and RCT, liaise with Revenue and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients, keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
o Accounts Preparation: Prepare financial statements to draft stage for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, perform reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments.
o Client Advisory: Provide financial insights and recommendations to clients, support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
o Team Collaboration: Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems.
2. Requirements:
o Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
o Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role.
o Extensive experience in payroll processing and tax compliance.
o Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and accounting standards.
o Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Bright, Bright Accounts, Bright Pay, or similar).
o Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
