My client, a leading Financial Services company based in Waterford, is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience in a busy and supportive finance environment. Reporting to the Finance Team, the Accounts Assistant will support day-to-day finance operations. The role will provide exposure to a broad range of accounting activities and systems. Key Responsibilities: Assist with procure-to-pay activities, including supplier invoice processing. Support employee expense processing. Assist with bank reconciliations. Support VAT and RTD return preparation. Assist with maintenance of the fixed asset register. Support sales invoice preparation and reconciliations. Assist with month-end journal preparation and posting. Provide support during audit processes. Carry out ad hoc finance duties as required. Key Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (or currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification) 1-2 years' experience in an accounts or finance role (graduate-level candidates will also be considered) Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills Willingness to learn and develop within a finance function Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
