Role Overview
HealthPath Ireland is seeking a CORU-registered Medical Scientist to join our mentorship network as a freelance mentor.
The mentor will provide one-to-one and group guidance to international medical scientists preparing for CORU registration, adaptation, or employment in Ireland.
You will assist mentees with whatever aspect of the process they request support with — whether it's understanding CORU requirements, preparing documentation, clarifying professional standards, or getting ready for adaptation or employment.
Your experience and insight will help guide healthcare professionals through their transition into the Irish system confidently and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Mentor overseas medical scientists navigating the CORU registration process.
* Provide guidance on documentation, professional recognition, and adaptation pathways.
* Explain Irish healthcare laboratory standards, ethics, and scope of practice.
* Conduct virtual mentoring sessions (individual or group) on relevant topics.
* Offer feedback on CVs, professional statements, and adaptation applications.
* Support mentees in preparing for interviews, adaptation placements, or initial job roles.
* Contribute to the development of educational materials or webinars, where applicable.
* Collaborate with HealthPath's academic and operations team to ensure high-quality mentorship delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
* CORU registration as a Medical Scientist (essential).
* Minimum 1 years of professional experience in an Irish or EU healthcare laboratory setting.
* Strong understanding of CORU registration standards and documentation requirements.
* Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
* Reliable internet connection and availability for scheduled virtual sessions.
* Prior experience in education, mentorship, or training is an advantage.
Contract Type
* Project-based role with flexible working hours.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
