Job Title:Rehabilitation Officer Based: Head Office in Dublin 7 and Headway services locations as required (currently: Sandymount, Finglas, Clondalkin, Newbridge) Reporting to:Day Programmes Manager Headway is an internationally accredited service organisation that supports adults who are affected by an Acquired Brain Injury, whether from stroke, traumatic head injury or other cause.
With over 80 staff throughout the country, Headway serves over **** clients and family members and answers around **** helpline queries per annum.
Headway provides services to clients from four locations in Dublin/Kildare, four in Cork/Kerry, and four in the Limerick region, as well as through the service of its off-site community rehabilitation case workers, counsellors, and outreach.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with qualifications and experience in social care/community rehabilitation to join our team in Dublin and Kildare.
35-hour working per week, operating on daytime office hours Monday to Friday (time in lieu granted for evening/weekend if required), with flexitime in line with service requirements.
Permanent role with 6-month probationary period.
You will be eligible for the company pension scheme (5% employer contribution) and Permanent Health Insurance (long-term sick leave insurance cover).
You will be given your own laptop and phone for work purposes and can apply to work from home for 1 day per week following your probation period.
Primary Responsibilities: Work on behalf of Headway as a member of the Dublin Rehabilitation Team (Rehabilitative Training and Day Rehabilitation Services).
Contribute to provision of services to clients with ABI, with the support of Manager and Officers, and receive training and experience in programme planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Act as a key worker to specific clients in line with the Headway service model.
Facilitate both one to one and group activities and participate in the creative development of modules and activities.
Facilitate and support the work of interdisciplinary teams, liaising with other professionals and family members regularly to ensure clients needs are met.
Take responsibility for the needs of clients in line with relevant health and safety legislation and Headway policy/procedure.
Undertake an equitable share of all general duties at the service locations to support the efficient running of the programmes (e.g. clearing up before and after activities, tea making etc., and any other duties that may be required).
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Provide statistics and records of work as appropriate.
Follow and adhere to all Headway policies and procedures.
COMPETENCIES: Degree level qualification and experience working in the social care / rehabilitation / disabilities sector.
Group facilitation experience a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliability and a flexible approach essential Excellent administrative, organisational and computer skills Strong client centred, ethical approach Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Creativity (e.g., in using community resources, problem solving, dealing with client needs) Professional, accountable, good planning and time management skills Skills: social care rehabilitation acquired brain injury
