School Age Care Practitioner: A Rewarding Role
The ideal candidate will possess essential skills to succeed in this role.
1. A minimum of FETAC Level 5 in Childcare/School Age Care or relevant qualification is preferable, not essential.
2. Previous experience working within the childcare sector would be beneficial but is not required.
3. Leadership and responsibility skills are crucial, especially road safety skills.
4. The ability to work well as part of a team is vital.
5. Working knowledge of Child Protection is necessary.
6. The ability to plan activities and implement is also required.
7. Excellent communication skills are essential.
This role includes supervising primary school-aged children between 4-12 years old. It also involves collecting children from nearby schools via walking and ensuring road safety is paramount during this time. The successful candidate will assist children with their homework, serve food prepared by staff, and listen to the voice of the child while encouraging Child Participation.

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 1:30-5:30 pm.
