Site R&D TechnologistCo. LongfordWe are pleased to be recruiting a Site R&D Technologist for a leading food manufacturer in Co. Longford. The core purpose of this role is to scale new products to full manufacturing and improve profitability through reformulation and process optimization.Key Responsibilities:Providing in-depth reports on trials that accurately reflect the work carried out including all required measurements, ingredients, standard operating procedures, recommended actions and next steps.Management of recipe development and implementation ensuring key criteria of nutrition and palatability are compliant in conjunction with group teams.Management of continuous improvement programme of recipe development on site and ensuring proactive approach to least cost formulation.Support product requests for customer presentations.Work with cross-functional teams at site and group to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and are fully compliant.Support customer queries in relation to recipe and nutrition.Manage site raw material analysis plan when required.Preparation of reports following trials and analysis of outputs.Preparation of samples for dispatch.Participate in relevant cross functional meetings such as procurement, NPI, customer technical meetings etc.Ensure NPD process at site level meets customer and accreditation requirements.Management of site product portfolio.Education & QualificationsDegree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related discipline.Professional qualifications in recipe development, quality assurance, or food safety are advantageous.Knowledge of food legislation and regulatory compliance, including allergen, labelling, and nutrition requirements.Experience2–5 years' experience in recipe development, product formulation, or food manufacturing.Experience in managing product trials, analysis, and reporting.Hands-on experience with ingredient handling, formulation, and standard operating procedures.Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and least-cost formulation is desirable.Experience working with cross-functional teams including procurement, NPD (New Product Development), production, and quality.Previous involvement in customer-facing technical queries, presentations, or NPD meetings.Exposure to managing raw material analysis plans and/or lab testing is beneficial.
