Director of Nursing - Intellectual Disability Services Location: St John of God Community Services North East - Covering Louth, Meath & Monaghan Tenure: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 37.5 hours per week About Us St John of God Community Services (SJOG CS) is a national organisation supporting over 3,000 people with intellectual disabilities across Ireland.
Our North East region provides residential and day services to over 300 adults across counties Louth, Meath and Monaghan, with a strong emphasis on person-centred, community-based care.
The Opportunity We are now recruiting a Director of Nursing (Band 2 A) to lead our nursing and care teams across the North East region.
This pivotal leadership role ensures governance, strategic oversight, and quality care across multiple community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the North East region Act as a Person Participating in Management (PPIM) with HIQA Drive person-centered care and evidence-based nursing practices Lead governance, risk management, and clinical audit processes Manage and develop care & support teams and promote a culture of learning and accountability Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, service users, and their families Oversee resource planning, budgets, policy implementation, and compliance What We're Looking For Registered (or eligible to register) with the NMBI in the Intellectual Disability Division Minimum 10 years post-registration experience in intellectual disability nursing At least 5 years at CNM2 level or higher, with 3 in an intellectual disability setting Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in healthcare or management Demonstrated leadership in clinical governance, people management, and change implementation Access to appropriate transport Why Join Us?
