Job Description

Clerical Officer Grade III, Consultant Billing Team page is loaded. For over 100 years, Bon Secours Hospital has been meeting community needs and achieving breakthrough medical advances in care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration and be able to work accurately and efficiently. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Required Skills and Qualifications

* Leaving Certificate or equivalent and relevant administration qualification/third level qualification is essential
* Certificate/Diploma Business Studies or Medical certification is desirable
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential

Others

The duties of the position include:

* Accurate completion of claim form detail on behalf of consultant
* Review of patient chart and detail of clinical information from patient chart to claim form
* Maintain and ensure that adequate controls are met in relation to ensuring all claims are processed efficiently with attention to detail key in all aspects of role
* Completion of clinical detail on consultant billing system with requirement to upload detail to clearing house system following consultant sign off
* Liaise with consultants in relation to their requirements or changes to requirements with prioritization of work of work in line with consultant priorities
* Ensure the efficient running of the clerical function at all times in all areas
* Request medical chart information and return chart information following completion of claim detail
* Liaise with Medical Records where chart cannot be found
* Generate consultant invoice in line with consultant contract ensuring revenue maximisation for consultant
* Attendance and minute taking at meetings when requested
* Liaise with hospital billing team for any billing related issues that may arise
* Encourage effective and efficient communication with supporting departments and in line with the Hospital Communications Policy
* Any other ad-hoc projects that may be assigned from time to time which are within the remit of the duties of a Clerical Administrator Grade III
