REPORTING TO: Site Manager
LOCATION: Based in Dublin, Ireland.
Candidates from NI are welcome to apply but must be willing to commute.
CONTRACT TYPE: FULL‑TIME
HOURS: Monday – Friday
Role Responsibilities
Support the Site Manager in helping to lead the construction of the allocated project.
Build strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub‑contractors.
Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially Quantity Surveyors and the overall Project Manager.
Engage all members of the project team to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Liaise with the Commercial team and other internal stakeholders as and when required.
Assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
Be responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
Regularly check the setting out points and benchmarks, ensuring that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
Ensure workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
Provide and maintain setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the works.
Check technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.
Supervise the work of all subcontracting firms carrying out works on site.
Engage and liaise with utility providers/co‑ordinate on site, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
Prepare site reports and all other required documentation.
Take a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site.
Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to at all times.
Coordinate and supervise temporary works as required.
Implement a regime of test and inspection plans for all works on site.
The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
A higher‑level qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
5‑10 years' experience in a Site Engineer/Site Management role on construction projects, with a proven track record on large scale projects.
Skills & Attributes
Possess in‑depth knowledge of Irish/UK construction standards.
Ability to liaise with Commercial & Contracts team when dealing with internal stakeholders and client representatives while on site, including attendance at meetings.
Technically competent.
Demonstrable commercial awareness.
Process orientated and strong attention to detail.
Effective problem‑solving skills.
