Title: Senior Security Engineer
Type: Permanent
Location: Dublin City Centre (onsite 5 days a week)
We are working with a highly regarded organisation in financial services seeking a Security Engineer to support multi‑year IT/cyber uplift activity, cloud transformation programs and operational security functions. You will join a collaborative security team with exposure to security tooling, cloud platforms, automation and enterprise‑scale security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engineering outcomes aligned to organisational security requirements and standards
Implement, maintain and optimise security tooling (EDR, SIEM, logging, vulnerability scanning)
Collaborate with various teams across the business to enhance the overall cyber security posture of the business
Assist with threat detection, automation and integration within DevOps/cloud environments
Support incident response and remediation activities where required
Contribute to cloud security posture uplift across multi‑cloud Azure/AWS workloads
Produce documentation, runbooks and technical support artefacts
Key Skills
Proven experience as a Security Engineer within large enterprise environments (8+ years ideally)
Experience with a range of security tools/platforms (e.g. Sentinel, Defender, Prisma, Splunk)
Familiarity with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Experience with network topology is key
Strong understanding of cloud‑native security controls (Azure/AWS)
Knowledge of vulnerability management processes and remediation practices
Key Experience
8+ years of experience in network or systems engineering, architecture, or administration; team‑lead experience is a plus.
8+ years of experience across any information‑security domain (security engineering, administration, analysis, penetration testing, etc.)
Strong understanding of core security concepts, common attack vectors, and mitigation approaches.
Proven experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or similar.
Solid foundation in TCP/IP, routing, and switching, with the ability to perform basic network administration and troubleshooting.
Strong grasp of operating‑system fundamentals, with hands‑on experience in Windows and/or Linux administration and troubleshooting.
