Overview
The Brehon Hotel & Spa is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Weddings & Events Assistant to join our dedicated team. This entry-level role is designed for someone passionate about hospitality and looking to begin a career in weddings and events.
As a Weddings & Events Assistant, you will work closely with the Weddings & Events Manager and Coordinators, providing essential support in the smooth running of weddings and events. This is a supportive role, focused on administration, organisation, and assisting with event delivery - not leading or managing weddings independently.
The position offers excellent experience in a prestigious 4-star hotel environment, with the opportunity to develop skills and progress into a Weddings & Events Coordinator role over time.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Weddings & Events team (e.g., preparing documents, updating client files, processing bookings).
* Assist with client communication, responding to general enquiries and helping prepare information for meetings.
* Support the team with event preparation such as room set-ups, signage, decor placement, and table plan organisation.
* Shadow and assist the Coordinators and Manager during show-rounds, site visits, and client meetings.
* Be present on event days to provide practical support, helping ensure everything runs smoothly under the direction of the Coordinator/Manager.
* Liaise with other hotel departments (catering, housekeeping, reception) to support seamless operations.
* Uphold the hotel's standards of service and professionalism in every guest interaction.
The Successful Candidate will
* Previous hospitality or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner.
* A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak event periods.
* Genuine interest in building a long-term career in weddings and events.
* Proactive nature with an outgoing and friendly personality.
