IT Test Analyst
Location: Dublin (Hybrid)
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Salary: €52, per annum
Job Purpose
We are currently seeking an IT Test Analyst to join the IT Department within the Corporate Services Directorate. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of business-critical systems by planning, executing, and managing testing activities across multiple applications and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, design, and execute testing activities including functional, regression, system integration, data validation, UAT, load, and performance testing.
2. Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to define and implement effective testing strategies.
3. Plan and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in collaboration with business stakeholders and end users.
4. Document, analyse, and report on test results, recommending corrective actions where required.
5. Identify, log, manage, and verify defects using test and defect management tools.
6. Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex or cross-platform functionality.
7. Review third-party vendor test plans and results to ensure adequate coverage and quality standards.
8. Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation of repeatable test cases.
9. Collaborate with other testing and UAT leads, sharing best practices and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Provide flexibility during peak periods to ensure testing deliverables are met.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
11. A third-level qualification (minimum NFQ Level 7) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
12. A recognised testing certification (e.g. ISTQB Foundation or equivalent).
13. A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in IT quality assurance and software testing (a relevant Master's degree may substitute for up to 1 year of experience).
14. Proven experience in test planning, execution, reporting, and defect management.
15. Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
16. Experience using test and work management tools such as Azure DevOps or similar.
17. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
19. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Desirable Requirements
20. Experience working in a public sector or government environment.
21. Knowledge of SQL, data validation, or data visualisation tools.
22. Understanding of data privacy and information security principles.
23. Experience contributing to positive customer or end-user experience
