Machine Technician - Onsite Dallas, TX at Packsize
What You'll Do
* Work cross-functionally with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams
* Receive incoming parts and supplies, verify their quality and quantity
* Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of parts transactions
* Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of parts and supplies
* Analyze customer KPI's to identify machine performance issues, leading to problem-solving and maintenance
* Complete and pass training courses
* Develop knowledge of packaging designs
* Learn and develop customer support and technical skills for high-quality maintenance
* Perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and accessories
* Install new equipment and train customer personnel
* Learn and complete basic administration duties (assigned tasks, emails, etc.)
* Follow safety protocols around moving parts and electricity
* Exhibit strong work ethic and time management
* Remain accessible via telephone, promptly return emails and messages
* Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography; overnight travel may be required
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in parts and inventory management, preferably in a similar industry
* Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools
* Excellent customer service skills
* Basic Excel and Word skills
* Knowledge of Windows platforms
* Advanced mechanical skills
* Advanced troubleshooting skills using drawings, operational characteristics, and technical documentation
* Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
* Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
* Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist
* Must be able to climb a ladder
* Independent judgment with little or no direct supervision
* Effective written and verbal communication with customers and supervision regarding worksite status
* Associate degree or vocational technical training strongly desired; Bachelor’s in related area preferred
* Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
* Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license
Machine Operation
Clearing jams, loading Z-fold, changing labels, changing bander paper and adding glue to the machine.
Travel
* There will be initial travel requirements for training purposes.

* Remain in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods
* Work in a noisy environment at various temperatures
* Move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
* Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, steps stools, and the like
* Perform tasks that require bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and reaching
