Job Title: Senior Maintenance Engineer
Location: Dublin 12
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a leading provider of automated material handling and postal automation systems. This is a permanent role in Dublin 12, offering the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art, high-speed automation technology.
The Senior Maintenance Engineer will provide advanced technical leadership and support to the maintenance team, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and deputising where required.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide high-level technical support to maintenance technicians and supervisors, acting as the second level of escalation for equipment faults.
•Carry out advanced fault diagnosis and root cause analysis across automated, electrical, mechanical, electronic, and control systems.
•Work closely with the Maintenance Manager, deputising in their absence and supporting day-to-day team operations.
•Lead investigations into recurring or complex equipment issues and develop long-term technical solutions.
•Develop, modify, and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and availability.
•Support and oversee PM planning, execution, and optimisation.
•Manage and support spares strategy, including stock levels, sourcing, tracking, and supplier liaison.
•Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and reports clearly to management, customers, and suppliers.
•Support training and upskilling of maintenance personnel through coaching and technical guidance.
•Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with health, safety, quality, and ISO standards.
We Are Interested in Speaking With:
•Senior Maintenance Engineers with strong electrical or electromechanical backgrounds, or
•Experienced engineers currently operating in high-speed automated or material handling environments, or
•Candidates with proven experience acting as a technical authority or escalation point within maintenance teams, or
•Engineers with experience supporting complex automation supplied by OEMs such as NEC, Leonardo, Beumer, or EA&E (advantageous).
Key Requirements:
•Level 8 degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent experience.
•Extensive hands-on experience in fault finding across automated production or processing equipment.
•Strong expertise in automation systems, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, PLC, PC, and control systems.
•Proven experience delivering root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements.
•Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
•In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
•Experience supporting, coaching, and developing maintenance teams.
