About the Position
This is a senior-level role for an accomplished microbiologist with the experience and confidence to lead a microbiology department. Working alongside a junior microbiologist, you’ll have the autonomy to oversee all microbiological testing and compliance activities, while driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage microbiology operations, including method validation, microbial testing, and environmental monitoring.
* Oversee preparation and review of protocols, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
* Ensure timely and accurate analysis of water, raw materials, finished products, and stability samples.
* Drive GMP and GLP compliance, ensuring inspection readiness.
* Manage QMS activities, including deviations, investigations, and CAPA.
* Mentor and support junior staff in technical and operational activities.
Experience / Requirements
* Approximately 10 years’ experience in the Irish pharmaceutical sector.
* Strong background in microbiological testing and method validation.
* Experience managing high sample volumes, ideally in testing laboratories.
* Deep knowledge of USP/NF, EP, and BP standards.
* Proven ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
