Cost Engineer - Germany, Frankfurt - 18 Month Contract
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Frankfurt.
Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for a Cost Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities Include
Lead CAPEX estimation for large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, highly regulated projects), delivering Class 5 to Class 2 estimates Developed and implemented cost control systems and procedures across international EPC/EPCM projects Managed full project controls lifecycle: budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and financial reporting Oversaw day-to-day cost control operations including accruals, commitments, resource planning, and financial forecasting Delivered internal and external financial performance reports, including earned value analysis (CPI), variation analysis, and shareholder presentations Defined and maintained Work Breakdown Structures, cost breakdowns, and contract documentation to support project planning and execution Conducted risk management, change order and claim management, contingency tracking, and alignment with business/contractual requirements Coordinated with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and delivery teams to ensure cost and schedule alignment Provided training and support to engineers on estimating and cost control for small to mid-sized projects Experienced in financial reporting, P&L analysis, audit interface, and project loan refinancing Applied advanced cost management techniques and tools including SAP, Power BI, Primavera, and MS Project
Key requirements include:
Requires extensive experience in cost control and project controls across complex, international mega projects Strong background in regulated industries ie.
life sciences, chemicals, manufacturing, oil&gas and infrastructure sectors Certified FMVA, CMSA or BIDA with advanced knowledge of earned value management Skilled in contract management, change control, and financial governance Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams Fluent in English; experienced in multicultural project environments
