DescriptionPosition Title: Information & Advocacy Worker – AMIF CHINESE LANGUAGE PROJECT WORKERThe Employer:Crosscare delivers services with a servant leadership ethos. Crosscare focuses on helping people when they need it most or when they can't find support anywhere else.Location: Crosscare Migrant Project, 2 St Mary's Place North, Dublin 7.Work Schedule:Full-time hybrid role. Consideration will be given to experienced candidates who would prefer 4 days per week (pro rata). Monday to Friday, 9 – 5pm. Anticipated 50-60% of working week required in-person in our offices. Very occasional evening work. Some flexibility around start and finish times.Contract: 1-year fixed term to September 2026Salary: €42,823 (Point 8 on our salary scale)Reporting to: Project ManagerThe Role: The Chinese-language Project Worker will be responsible for delivering on Crosscare Migrant Project's AMIF (Asylum, Migration & Integration fund) activities, specifically in relation to non-EU migrants living in Ireland with a special focus on Chinese-speaking migrants. The project worker will provide a direct service through Chinese; develop information resources in Chinese (Mandarin) to address multiple areas of services and supports, including social protection, health, immigration and integration; and will also develop online tools and routes to disseminate information to the Chinese-speaking community in Ireland. Working in a small team, the successful applicant will take full responsibility for their individual case load, with regular case meetings and on-site training and support. The role is based in our Dublin city centre office.General Responsibilities:Direct case work with clientsProviding information to and advocating on behalf of migrants on issues relating to the immigration and associated systems for non-EU migrantsPreparing written submissions with or on behalf of clients to statutory servicesCollaborating with other Crosscare and external projects on multi-issue casesEnsuring all clients are treated with dignity, respect and in a professional mannerProject-specific workWebsite content management & updatingDeveloping information materialsProviding training on migrants rights, as requiredContributing to policy & research work, as requiredOrganisationalWorking as part of a team, engaging in team meetings, supervision, review and planning sessionsPromoting positive working relationships with external organisationsMaintaining Crosscare confidentiality at all times, following policies and procedures, and data protection legislationAdministrationDatabase and hard-copy case managementKeeping up-to-date with immigration case law and policiesApplicant must have full eligibility to work in Ireland, and must be resident in Ireland while holding the positionEssential Requirements:Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin) – with excellent verbal and written skillsExperience of information provision on a one-to-one basisExperience of advocacy work on behalf of clientsIn-depth knowledge of the immigration system (for example, citizenship applications, EU Treaty Rights, status issues, ISD & GNIB)Working knowledge of the social welfare, housing, health and employment systemsHigh level of competence in developing digital routes for information and support to migrant communities (including online forums, app development and website-based information)Experience working with people from different culturesDegree / post-graduate qualification in social sciences or equivalentAbility to manage and prioritise a busy and varied caseload independentlyApplicant must have full eligibility to work in Ireland, and must be resident in Ireland while holding the positionOther:Website content developmentOnline and digital information provisionWriting, researching and editing skillsPersonal attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsMotivation and ability to work on own initiativeOrganisational skillsIT Skills (MS Office & database experience essential)Commitment to social justice and a human rights-based approachBenefits:Competitive salariesGenerous annual leaveAdditional leave for long serviceTraining and Development ProgrammesEmployee Assistance ProgrammeDigital Doctor ServiceBike to Work SchemeIn Crosscare, we approach our work with an attitude of service, showing love, care and kindness in all interactions with others.
