Line of ServiceInternal Firm ServicesIndustry/SectorNot ApplicableSpecialismIFS - Risk & Quality (R&Q)Management LevelManagerJob Description & SummaryWe are looking to recruit an Independence Manager to join our Independence Team as part of the PwC Ireland Risk & Quality function on a fixed term basis for 12 to 14 months.Purpose-led work you'll be part ofA career in Risk Management in a dynamic team that will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity-based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation, including:opportunities to interact with partners and practice teams across the firm and Independence Specialists from across the PwC Global network ;wide exposure to the breadth of the firm's services and how we deliver these services ; anddevelopment of technical knowledge of a key area of firm regulatory risk.The PwC Ireland Independence Team is part of the firm's Risk & Quality group within Business Enablement Solutions ( BES ) that provides critical business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment. It is responsible fo r working with the practice across all Lines of Services to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory responsibilities as required under PwC Global Independence policy, US SEC rules, EU rules, local Irish rules, and other territories' rules.Responsibilities:As a manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. You'll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with the applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC's regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk.In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Responsible for:Manag ement of various Independence support systems, processes and activities, including active identification of process improvements to increase efficiency and compliance results ;Providing oversight and direction to the Service Delivery Centre (SDC) team and junior team members responsible for certain Independence processes and activities ;Providing Independence advice to partners, staff and engagement teams across the firm ;Handling complex consultations on Independence matters ;Developing or updating guidance on Independence related matters ;Developing or updating Independence training material s, and deliver y of Independence training ;Developing communication material s on Independence such as Independence bulletinDelivery of ad hoc Independence projects ;Participation in firm and/or network quality assurance activitiesCoaching and mentoring of junior colleagues to promote knowledge sharing ; andInvolvement with the innovation and development of Independence processes and PwC Global initiatives .Experiences and skills:Minimum 7 y ears experience in professional services including 5 years experience in audit, risk or compliance type roleExisting independence knowledge including external independence regulations and requirements ( e.g. SEC, IESBA, IAASA or UK FRC Ethical Standard) would be ideal but not required as you will be provided with the necessary training and supportApplying policy / regulatory requirements and guidance to assess permissibility of relationships for in dependence purposes, levera ging pro blem solving know-how, and developing and offering conclusionsExhibiting excellent oral and written business communication skills leveraged to probe for information, and communicate with impact and empathyStrong client service focus in dealing with partners and staff at all levels and areas of the firmDemonstrating high level of accuracy, s uperb attention to detail and the ability to collect, analyse, connect and structure the information received, while consistently applying professional skepticism to evaluate and verify information thoroughlyAbility to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing environment, and work independently with various stakeholders and adapt to organisational changesStrong people and project management skills, m onitoring team level workload in different areas ensuring meeting deadlines consistentlyUnlock your potential with PwC IrelandW e believe that challenges are better solved together We're inspiring and empowering our people to change the world.
