Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Social Worker / Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of a residential facility. This hybrid role combines facility management responsibilities with social support duties, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and supportive environment for all residents. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, experience in social care, and the ability to manage operations and coordinate services effectively. Key Responsibilities:Resident Support & Social Work Duties: Act as the primary point of contact for residents, providing guidance, support, and referrals to external services. Monitor the well-being of residents and address any social, emotional, or practical issues that may arise. Liaise with community organizations, support services, and local authorities to ensure residents needs are met. Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and safeguarding protocols. Support residents during crisis situations, advocating on their behalf where necessary. Building & Facility Management: Oversee the daily operations of the building, ensuring that it is safe, secure, and well-maintained. Conduct regular inspections of the premises and coordinate with contractors or service providers for necessary repairs and maintenance. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fire safety protocols, and other relevant building codes. Monitor supplies and manage inventory for communal areas and staff facilities. Manage access control and general security procedures for the building. Administrative & Compliance Duties: Maintain up-to-date documentation including incident reports, maintenance logs, and resident files. Assist with onboarding new residents and support a positive integration process. Attend relevant meetings and training sessions as required. Ensure all operations comply with relevant legal and organizational standards. Required Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Social Work, Social Care, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Previous experience working in residential services, housing support, or community-based roles. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and social care best practices. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Ability to manage time and priorities independently in a dynamic environment. Comfortable working with diverse populations and in culturally sensitive settings. Desirable: Experience in building or facilities management (formal or informal). First Aid certification and/or manual handling training. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and working with vulnerable or displaced individuals. Working Conditions: This role involves both office-based tasks and hands-on site management. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
