Job Description:

TerraGlen is devoted to working in partnership with young people, their families, representatives, and others to deliver a specialist, person-centred, and outcome-focused service for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

* Supervise social care staff.
* Deputise for the Manager in operational aspects of the establishment.
* Educate themselves about service users and how their disabilities affect them.
* Report, record, and carry out assessments.
* Support the day-to-day running of the service and ensure a person-centred approach.
* Organize, plan, and execute staff training and development.
* Lead the team in the absence of management.
* Chair meetings, set agendas, and follow up on actions.
* Support staff in managing their workload, supervisions, and meetings.
* Work shifts, including weekends and nights, and participate in on-call rotas.
* Build and maintain professional relationships with MDT, families, and other personnel.
* Adhere to GDPR and ensure confidentiality.
* Ensure high-quality service readiness for HIQA inspections.
* Follow regulations set by HIQA and New Directions.
* Keep administration tasks updated and in line with policies.
* Complete audits and follow up on them.
* Maintain service user files and administration to high standards.
* Create and review service user plans and goals.
* Promote independence and community integration.
* Oversee staff motivation and support for service users' activities.
* Conduct health and safety checks and risk assessments.
* Participate in service user planning meetings and follow up on actions.
* Support service users in daily life and decision-making.
* Report concerns about welfare, safety, and health.
* Record accurately according to standards.
* Support behavior management using individualized positive behavior support plans.
* Maintain high service quality through audits and compliance.
* Complete quality reports competently.
* Follow financial procedures and report discrepancies.
* Develop professional rapport with colleagues and support the team.
* Create opportunities for community involvement, volunteering, employment, and education for service users.
* Attend mandatory and developmental training.
* Use initiative, organize, and prioritize work.
* Engage in supervision and reflective practice.
* Own professional development and incorporate feedback for improvement.
* Undertake additional tasks as required within the scope of the Deputy SCM role.

Qualifications:

* Minimum Level 7 in Applied Social Care or relevant qualification.
* Full Driver's license with two years' experience.
* Currently undertaking or holding a CORU-recognized Social Care Qualification.
