EHS Specialist (with potential Lab / QC elements)
Cork | Full Time | Site Based
A leading multinational manufacturing organisation is currently seeking an EHS Specialist to join its Cork based facility. This is a full time, permanent role reporting to the EHSQ Manager and offers an excellent opportunity to work within a well established safety culture in a regulated industrial environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting environmental, health and safety programmes across the site. Depending on the candidate’s background, the role may also include elements of laboratory quality control, making it particularly suited to individuals with a chemistry or scientific background who have an interest in developing within EHS.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of site EHS systems and programmes
Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and compliance activities
Ensure alignment with regulatory and corporate EHS standards
Contribute to safety initiatives, audits and inspections
Provide EHS guidance and support to operational teams
Where applicable, support laboratory QC activities, including providing cover during periods of leave or absence
Promote a strong safety culture across the organisation
Candidate Profile
Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline
Experience in an EHS, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical or laboratory environment
Strong understanding of EHS regulations and best practice
Candidates with combined laboratory and EHS experience will be particularly attractive
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively within a site based operational environment
Package
