Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of the construction industry to manage full sets of accounts, project-based cost control, and financial compliance.
The role works closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost management.
Key Responsibilities Maintain full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation)Handle project-based accounting, including job costing and cost allocation Monitor project budgets, variations, and cost overruns Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts Process progress claims, subcontractor payments, and retention sums Ensure timely billing and follow-up on outstanding receivables Prepare GST submissions and liaise with auditors and tax agents Support annual audit and year-end closing Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements Maintain proper filing of financial and project-related documents Requirements Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction industry Strong understanding of construction costing, progress claims, and retention Proficient in accounting software (e.g.
Quick Books, Xero, MYOB or similar)Good knowledge of GST and local regulatory requirements Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently Good communication skills to liaise with project and management teams
