Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Ireland – Dublin, Cork, Carlow
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting one of Ireland's largest independently owned consultancies, recognised for its expertise in sustainable infrastructure, the circular economy, environmental planning, energy, and renewable development. With a strong reputation for delivering major projects across both the private and public sectors, the company is now seeking to appoint a Senior Town Planner to support the ongoing growth of their planning team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to work on some of Ireland's largest and most complex renewable energy, infrastructure, waste, and urban development projects. You will play a central role in planning application management, strategic advice, and guiding the consenting process.
For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) for high-profile renewable energy projects. With a broad project portfolio and a commitment to professional development, this firm offers a clear and supported route for career progression.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing and submitting planning applications, reports, feasibility studies, masterplans, and planning strategies
2. Advising clients and stakeholders on planning strategy, legislation, and policy
3. Leading or contributing to multidisciplinary project teams
4. Managing project timelines and delivering high-quality planning documentation
5. Engaging with clients from both private and public sectors
Key requirements:
6. Degree and/or master's in town planning or a related discipline
7. A minimum of eight years' professional experience in town planning
8. Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
9. Strong knowledge of Irish planning and environmental legislation
10. Proven experience delivering complex planning and environmental projects
