We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Contracts Manager to join our team at Codec.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and managing contracts to ensure the best possible outcomes for our business. You will play a vital part in our bid and delivery processes, ensuring contract compliance, managing risk, and supporting smooth project execution. Working closely with our teams, you will help safeguard Codec’s commercial interests while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare the legal and commercial assumptions etc in out tender bids
Negotiate the legals in each contract.
Monitor contracts to ensure work done is in spec and contracted.
Ensure CRs are achieved for requested work that is outside spec
Help manage client-side delays to the project to ensure continuous build for our teams
Where the client is responsible for us onboarding new people, arrange CRs for the training needed
Main positive relationship with stakeholders and the customer whilst doing these things
Drafting and Negotiation: working with Legal and Finance and the Commercial team to assist with creating, reviewing, and negotiating contract terms with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favorable outcomes
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring contracts meet legal standards and managing risks by addressing potential issues proactively
Budgeting and Scheduling: Estimating budgets, agreeing on timelines, and managing costs throughout the project lifecycle
Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and execution.
Monitoring and Reporting: Overseeing contract performance, tracking milestones, and maintaining accurate records for audits or reviews
Dispute Resolution: Addressing conflicts or disputes that arise during contract execution
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in contract management, legal, or commercial roles
Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and compliance standards
Excellent negotiation and drafting skills
Ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders simultaneously
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on maintaining client relationships
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills
Knowledge of IT services or project delivery environments is a plus
Bachelor's degree Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
