The Role:

The Delivery teams are responsible for the delivery of Strategic Projects and the IDD investment programme safely, efficiently and on time. The team deliver projects and programs from inception through construction and to hand-over, ensuring that UÉ delivers on its commitments with regard to outcomes and outputs which provide key benefits for the customer and the environment.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will support project/programme delivery, primarily utilising UÉ's supply chain. Through a multidisciplinary approach and close liaison with both internal functions and external service providers and stakeholders, the Assistant Project Manager will help to ensure that projects/programmes are delivered safely, to the necessary quality standards, on-time and to budget. Sustainability and innovation targets will be a vital part of project and programme deliverables.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assisting the project/programme team with the end-to-end delivery of the required outcomes and outputs, across the areas of design, procurement, construction delivery, budget, schedule and technical quality output.
* Support the preparation and assessment of tender documentation, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), for procurement of delivery partners to carry out design, project management, supervision and construction of the project/programme.
* Contribute to regular reviews of schedule and cost, supporting change, risk and issues management.
* Supporting the development of submissions to governance forums from approval gates 1 to gate 4.
* Provide support and input regarding budget and schedule monitoring, liaising and coordinating with the Portfolio Office team, as well as supporting the Commercial Team with the management of key risks and issues which have been escalated.
* Managing the collation and reporting of project/programme risks and opportunities, as well as the management of associated contingencies, escalating where required.
* Working with Corporate Affairs to support the delivery of effective community and customer engagement strategies.
* Adopt an adaptable and flexible approach to change, innovation and continuous improvement.
* Collate project and programme documentation, metrics, etc. as required for the successful management, reporting and oversight of the project/programme.
* Co-ordinate project/ programme performance data through the regular monthly update cycles for performance monitoring and reporting purposes.

General Duties and Responsibilities

* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to;
* Asset Management & Sustainability in particular Asset Planning,
* COO – Asset Operations and Customer Operations,
* Business Services – Supply Chain,
* People & Safety – HSQE in particular the EHS team,
* Corporate Affairs.
* Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
* Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
* Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Demonstrable experience of Portfolio and/or Programme management and delivery of large programmes/projects is desirable
* Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
* Proven track record in resolving complex issues, along with the ability to communicate information to others.
* Highly motivated individual, with a proven track record in resolving complex issues, along with the ability to communicate information to others
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and make improvement decisions that benefit the team/communities
* Ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to look for and listen to diverse perspectives
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirement
* Proven track record in identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
* Experience in taking ownership of safety responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
