A well‑established construction business is seeking to appoint an Accountant to a newly created role based in Sligo. This position has been introduced to strengthen the finance function, reduce the financial workload on non‑finance teams, and provide timely, accurate financial information to support senior management and Board decision‑making.
This is a hands‑on role offering strong visibility and the opportunity to shape and improve finance processes.
Duties
Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare management accounts and financial reports for senior management and Board meetings
Coordinate and support the year‑end audit process
Improve internal controls and streamline finance processes
Provide financial insights to support operational and project teams
Work closely with non‑finance stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy
Candidate Profile
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
Experience in construction or a project‑based environment is an advantage
Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
Comfortable in a standalone or newly created role
Strong communication skills, particularly with non‑finance colleagues
Proactive, organised, and process‑focused
