Job Opportunity: First Notification of Loss Claims Handler
The role of a First Notification of Loss Claims Handler is vital in ensuring timely and effective claims handling. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of experience in FNOL claims handling, along with a minimum APA qualification or grandfathered status.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process daily claims post, notifications, and phone calls in compliance with insurance company binders and rules.
* Ensure all notifications are logged onto the system by month-end and reserve amendments and payments are recorded on time.
* Assist in producing month-end reports to insurers and recording monthly payments.
* Provide good service management for customers, brokers, and third parties, and report directly to the claims manager and/or insurance carriers.
* Participate in insurer audits and appoint approved repairers, loss adjusters, engineers, medical, and legal experts for claims settlement.
* Settle claims as early as possible without legal experts if possible and observe PIAB rules on reported claims.
* Attend settlement negotiations upon request by the claims manager and train on providing monthly and quarterly reports.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years of FNOL claims handling experience.
* APA/Grandfathered status, ideally working towards CIP.
* Customer-focused with ability to agree win-win situations.
* Awareness of Underwriting Principles and applicable legal and liability knowledge, claims regulations, compliance (CPC), and motor legislation.
* Methodical and structured approach to work demonstrating good problem-solving skills.
* Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative, prioritize workload, and manage objectives.
* Flexible and proactive with a positive attitude and high motivation.
