Job Description
As we are building out our Data Strategy and Operations organization, we are creating this role as part of our Master Data Process and Capability team. Our key accountabilities include design and maintenance of master data management governance policies and procedures that are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Our team enables End-to-End Master Data Management workflows, ensuring standardized global MDM processes that leverage technology for automating and orchestrating timely master data set‑up. We coordinate master data management processes, maintain key data elements, resolve master data issues, and monitor data quality. By working closely with key partners, we manage master data tasks and risks related to new product launches ensuring deadlines are met.
The Manager for Data Quality Operations leads and oversees activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data, acting as a crucial link between business operations and IT, defining data standards, implementing validation rules, monitoring data health, and overseeing remediation efforts to ensure data is trustworthy for decision‑making. As a key leader within the Data Management Team, the Manager, Data Quality Operations will have the opportunity to lead a critical function, will help co‑ordinate peers from across our supply chain functions, set priorities, and partner with other leaders across the organization to ensure that master data processes align with business objectives and product launch timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance: Contribute to the definition of data quality policies, standards, and targets. Contribute to data dictionaries, business glossaries, and compliance rules.
Data Monitoring & Analysis: Review data for errors, inaccuracies, or missing information. Utilize tools to build dashboards, monitor data health, and identify trends in data issues.
Error Management & Remediation: Lead root‑cause analysis of data quality errors and coordinating remediation plans with teams to rectify issues.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Data Stewards, IT, Supply Chain functions, and Operations to align data management systems, ensure data integrity, and enforce validation rules.
Process Optimization and Automation: Analyse data quality management processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Drive the adoption of tools, templates, and automated workflows to increase data team productivity and minimize errors. Partner with IT to continuously improve system integration and resolve system‑related challenges.
Data Reporting & Business Insights: Generate regular and ad‑hoc reports on data quality health, past issues, and improvement opportunities. Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) measuring reduction in data discrepancies, data quality score improvement in dashboards.
Data Governance Working Group Master Data Quality: Participate in the Operational Data Quality working group in collaboration with functional data stewards across Make, Plan, Source, Deliver, Quality, Finance and ATSC to ensure day‑to‑day data quality, compliance, implementation of and adherence to governance policies.
Data & Business Validation: Contribute to the analysis of data & business validation rules and in the implementation of automated validation in collaboration with IT partners across master data workflow tools and ERP platforms.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent through experience is required. Fully competent manager with solid general industry and company knowledge (e.g., Johnson & Johnson or comparable regulated industry). 5+ years of related experience.
Demonstrated experience managing processes, functions and teams in an operational environment. Experience working within defined processes while driving continuous improvement.
Required Skills
Deep expertise in enterprise ERP systems (e.g. SAP/S4HANA) & familiarity with related systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and/or SQL for data validation & reporting.
Strong understanding of master data governance principles, data lifecycle management, and related best practices.
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on data quality improvement.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills to succeed in handling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, influence multiple partners, and establish common goals and objectives without sacrificing outcomes.
Strong written, oral, and presentation skills in our business language English.
Preferred Skills
Experience with data migration or master data transformation projects.
Familiarity with master data requirements in regulated industries (e.g. GxP).
Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies or certification in PMP (Project Management Professional).
