Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of construction projects from planning to execution.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation. They will be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote and implement best practices in coordination with the SHQE department.
* Actively address unsafe conditions and policy noncompliance.
* Ensure accurate and consistent application of setting-out methods using total stations and other surveying equipment.
* Confirm that drawings and specifications are complete and precise, promptly addressing any missing information to avoid delays.
* Perform quality checks in alignment with company and project standards.
* Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed as per PMP and specifications, verifying dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
* Communicate effectively with foremen and supervisors to ensure project clarity.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant, graduate, and junior engineers.
* Take an active role in identifying, coaching, and developing key team members.
* Assist in drafting risk assessments and method statements for controlled work processes.
* Maintain effective communication with the commercial team regarding potential contractual or commercial impacts.
* Collaborate on material and equipment requisitioning.
* Assist in designing temporary works schemes when required.
* Foster positive working relationships with clients, designers, team members, and the supply chain.
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years on civil engineering projects, with groundworks experience essential.
* Technical Skills:Proficiency in setting-out equipment (e.g., total stations).Skilled in the latest surveying and CAD techniques.Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge:Familiarity with the commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects.Up-to-date understanding of civil engineering practices, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation.
