This role is ideal for chefs seeking reliable relief chef work, daytime hours only, and a structured healthcare kitchen setting with clear systems and professional standards.
The Role Working within a regulated healthcare kitchen, you will support daily food production and service, ensuring meals meet dietary, nutritional and food safety requirements.
You will work closely with catering managers, dietitians and clinical teams to deliver safe, consistent and high-quality food service.
This role suits chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, healthcare catering or high-volume food environments.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and present nutritious meals in line with dietary and clinical guidelines Support food production across hot kitchen, cold kitchen, prep and service areas Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene and cook-chill procedures at all times Maintain smooth kitchen operations with strong teamwork and consistency Manage stock rotation, storage and waste reduction Ensure accurate allergen management, portion control and presentation standards Carry out manual handling and kitchen duties safely Maintain a clean, organised and compliant healthcare kitchen Requirements QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification Experience as a Relief Chef, Chef de Partie, Hospital Chef or in a high-volume kitchen Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and cook-chill systems Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting Ability to provide 5 years of verifiable work references Flexible to work weekday and weekend shifts Professional, reliable and team-focused approach Skills: HACCP Chef food production manage stock kitchen duties Food Prep Culinary Skills Benefits: Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays Daytime shifts only (MondaySunday roster) Shuttle bus available from nearest village centre Opportunities for upskilling and long-term career
