Role description:
The Senior Architect plays a crucial role within the CSA Department, reporting directly to the CSA Department Manager. As a senior team member, he/she will bring extensive design and technical expertise. The primary responsibilities include building relationships, effective communication, and stakeholder engagement at all levels. The Senior Architect, being a registered Architect, will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry with notable experience in both design and technical aspects.
Role Accountabilities
1. Delivery of design scope within budget hours/schedule
2. Pharma/Facility layout, product flows, separation & adjacency planning
3. Participation in technical and safety reviews; contribute to code review and statutory compliance
4. Contribute to the standardization of departmental procedures, checklists, and guidelines
5. Establish good working relationships and communication with other leads, managers, and clients
6. Support project coordination with other disciplines as required
7. Visit client site during construction to understand improvements needed in design
8. Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss technical, procedural, operational issues, and work practices, identifying areas for improvement
9. Promote ARCADIS behavioral standards, equality, diversity, and inclusion; perform other reasonable work as requested by the department managers
Qualifications & Experience
1. Minimum 6–10 years postgraduate experience, ideally in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Bio-pharma sectors; commercial & industrial sectors may also be considered
2. Third-level qualification in Architecture; Registered Architect (RIAI) preferred
3. Experience on projects exceeding €5m TDC for CSA works
4. In-depth knowledge of statutory consent processes, building regulations, and BC(A)R process
5. Specialist experience in key technical areas such as OSD, filling suites, packaging areas, cleanroom layouts, laboratory design, and utility requirements; software proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Sketchup, Photoshop or equivalent
