Overview

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Breedon Cement, Kinnegad. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to work with a leading organisation on a number of exciting and challenging projects.


Description

Breedon is a leading construction and materials group in Ireland and Great Britain with a group turnover of c. €1.6 billion PA. We operate two cement plants, over 100 quarries, 50 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete plants, as well as a range of contract surfacing and other essential products to help our customers build the places where we all live, work, and play.

Key Responsibilities

* Work as part of the maintenance and engineering teams.
* Plan major annual plant shutdowns.
* Management of contractors completed various project and maintenance activities.
* Work closely with the Engineering team to deliver on all key performance indicators.
* Assist in the execution of planned, preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities associated with all equipment.
* Proactive approach to problem identification and problem solving applying a collaborative approach in conjunction with all team members.
* Assist in troubleshooting plant issues as they arise & seeks to identify resolutions for same.
* Assist in conducting feasibility studies on improvement projects with an emphasis on creating safer working environments, understanding the environmental impact, production cost and quality.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

* Awareness of health and safety requirement.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering drawing.
* Excellent problem-solving ability.
* Good intrapersonal and communication skills.
* The ability to work as part of a team or as an individual.
* A Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 2.1 grade.
