We're looking for aSenior R&D Engineering Managerto lead our high-performing R&D engineering team in Galway. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee critical development projects, shape team culture, and collaborate across functions to bring cutting-edge medical technologies to life.What You'll DoAs aSenior R&D Engineering Manager, you will:Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of design and development for new medical device products.Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering engagement, growth, and high performance.Collaborate with cross-functional Core Teams to drive project success and innovation.Oversee the evaluation and integration of new technologies, methodologies, and materials.Guide the full product lifecycle — from concept development through to market release.Manage feasibility studies to ensure functional and design excellence.Maintain rigorous technical documentation throughout all R&D phases.Coordinate with external suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.Champion product development best practices including Voice of Customer, early risk management, and Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM).Occasionally travel (up to 25%) for domestic and international collaboration.What We're Looking ForEducation: Level 8 Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.Leadership: Proven people management experience — including 1:1s, performance reviews, recruitment, and career development.Experience: Background in the medical device industry with a track record of delivering successful projects.Skills:Strong communication, team-building, and leadership capabilities.Ability to influence and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.Program management expertise is a distinct advantage.Results-driven mindset with a passion for mentoring and empowering teams.
