Job Title: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic
Location: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Netherlands
Employment Type: 1-Year Contract or Permanent
Working Hours: 38-hour contract (typically 40 hours/week), overtime available with required airport security clearance
Overview
My client, a global leader in Ground Support Equipment (GSE), is actively seeking qualified Mechanics with EU passports who are open to relocating to the Netherlands for a 1-year contract or permanent role.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced heavy vehicle technicians to enter the aviation sector and work in a high-profile international airport environment.
The Role
You will maintain and repair a wide range of airside support vehicles and equipment, including both diesel-powered and electric GSE.
Key Responsibilities
* Routine servicing and inspections of GSE (loaders, stair trucks, towing vehicles)
* Maintenance of electric airport vehicles and buses
* Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault‑finding and repair
* Reading and working from technical diagrams and manuals
* Responding to breakdowns and carrying out unscheduled maintenance
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Accurate service reporting and documentation
Ideal Candidate
* Background in HGVs, buses, trucks, or heavy plant maintenance
* Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
* Able to read and interpret technical schematics
* Proactive, hands‑on, and comfortable in fast‑paced environments
* GSE experience is a plus, but not essential
* Must be eligible for airport security clearance in the Netherlands
* Must have a good level of English (spoken and written)
* Willing to work 40 hours per week with flexibility
Requirements
* Recognised technical qualification in mechanics or automotive engineering
* Full EU driver's licence
* EU passport (essential for relocation and work clearance)
* Immediate availability preferred
