Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Kitchen Service Assistant to support the efficient flow of service in the kitchen. This role is fully back-of-house and involves reheating, light food preparation, food plating, and managing orders at the pass.This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and values precision, teamwork, and quality service delivery.Note: This is not a cooking role. All dishes are pre-prepared by the chef duties include heating, simple frying (e.g., chips), plating, and dispatching orders.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & PlatingReheat pre-prepared dishes under chef directionFry simple items (e.g., chips/fries) when requiredPlate dishes to a high visual and quality standardFollow portion control and presentation guidelines consistentlyOrder Management & CoordinationManage the pass and ensure timely dispatch of ordersOrganise and prioritise order tickets to maintain flow and accuracyCommunicate efficiently with the chef and team during serviceFood Safety & ComplianceAdhere to HACCP, food hygiene, and allergen control regulationsComplete temperature checks and cleaning logs as requiredMaintain cleanliness and organisation of all prep and plating areasRequirementsPrevious experience in a kitchen, deli, café, or food service environment (preferred)Plating and presentation training will be provided however, knowledge of the cuisine is paramount to success in this role.Strong knowledge or understanding of Afro/West African or Caribbean cuisine is essentialExcellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsAbility to remain calm and organised under pressureProfessional attitude, reliability, and strong work ethicWhat We OfferStarting rate: €13.50 per hour, with potential for increases based on performance and experienceSupportive team environment and opportunities for skill developmentTraining on plating standards, HACCP procedures, and kitchen systemsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: €13.50-€17.73 per hourExpected hours: 20 – 38 per weekWork Location: In person
