We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of renewable energy and civil construction projects across Ireland. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in cost management, contract administration, and subcontractor assessments, with a strong background in delivering projects on budget while maintaining quality and compliance. This position will involve regular site visits for client meetings, subcontractor negotiations, and inspections, as well as occasional travel to support project teams.

About the Role

The principal purpose of the Quantity Surveyor position is to lead and support the accurate estimation, cost control, and financial management of construction projects. The Quantity Surveyor will assist in leading the role in terms of assessing sub-contractor payment applications and variations from project commencement through to final account. The major objective is to ensure projects are completed within budget, providing value for money while maintaining quality and compliance with contract terms.

Responsibilities

* Understand the commercial terms and conditions (T&C) from the sales team/or contract.
* Assisting in the preparation of Bills of Quantities for Civils operations.
* Create commercial and contractual awareness amongst the project teams as per T&C.
* Support setting up and upload the commercial performance targets in the Company system.
* Assist the procurement team to source the cost-effective resources (material, equipment & contractor).
* Assist with preconstruction activities by feeding the latest technologies, their costs and lead time.
* Assisting with the review of subcontractor claims and project variations.
* Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
* Give feedback to the project team on the commercial related to the sales invoice and the cost.
* Attend site for Client's meeting, site walkdown, subcontractor meetings and work inspections.
* Assist in developing the Company commercial procedure and documents.
* Share knowledge and impart skills to other team members.
* Assist in any other duties which may encompass the role.

Qualifications

* Third Level Degree or equivalent in education and experience.
* Minimum 5 years' experience.
* Work with multiple projects/sites experience.
* Contracting service experience.
* Knowledge of renewable energy sector would be an advantage.
* Experience working with RIAI, FIDIC & PWC forms of contracts.
* Chartership qualification would be preferable.
* ME contractor experience would be an advantage.

* Negotiation Skills: Essential for reaching mutually beneficial agreements in various business interactions.
* Operational Efficiency: The ability to streamline operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality and performance standards.
* Business Understanding: Demonstrates a deep comprehension of the fundamental principles of business operations, market dynamics, financial metrics, and competitive strategies.
* Problem Solving: Utilizes a systematic approach to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.

Preferred Skills

* Knowledge of renewable energy sector would be an advantage.
* Experience working with RIAI, FIDIC & PWC forms of contracts.
* Chartership qualification would be preferable.
* ME contractor experience would be an advantage.
