My client is looking for a Business Development Director to head up a team in Dublin. This role reports to the Vertical Sales Lead and sits within a high-performing Insurance team across the UK and Ireland. The organisation has an established reputation and client base in the sector, with a strong ambition to expand its footprint in the General Insurance market.
We are seeking a Business Development Director to drive new business sales and revenue across the Insurance sector. The role focuses on positioning a broad portfolio of IT services and IP-led solutions, including IT transformation, digital, BPO, cyber, and AI.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain senior (CxO-level) relationships across target accounts
Develop and execute sales strategies for the Insurance market
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including underpenetrated areas
Create compelling propositions and business cases aligned to client needs
Manage pipeline, reporting, and bid governance processes
Collaborate with internal teams (solutions, pre-sales, marketing, legal) to win deals
Support RFP responses and market positioning
Contribute to marketing initiatives and provide market insight

Candidate Profile
Essential
Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets
Strong knowledge of the General Insurance market in the UK & Ireland
Understanding of insurance operations and technology, including AI trends
Experience working across cross-functional teams
Strong commercial awareness in IT services sales
Ability to build relationships at CxO level
Established network within the Insurance sector
Self-starter able to navigate complex organisations
Desirable
Knowledge of insurance regulation
Understanding of AI’s impact on the industry
