We currently require a Production Team Leader to join a busy Production team.
About the Role
As Production Team Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of our hot water cylinder assembly line, ensuring that all products are built to the highest quality standards and meet production schedules. You will lead a team of production operatives, coordinating and delegating tasks across all stages of manufacturing — including tank assembly, plumbing and pipework, electrical fitting, pressure testing, and packaging.
Working closely with management, engineering, and logistics teams, you'll ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing and warehouse areas while maintaining compliance with health and safety and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, and allocate daily workloads to the production team.
* Ensure that assembly, plumbing, electrical, and testing processes meet production and quality targets.
* Oversee team performance and ensure that employees are trained appropriately for their roles.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures.
* Identify and address process bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement across the production line.
* Support team development through training, motivation, and coaching.
* Liaise with management and support departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely dispatch.
* Complete daily production reports and maintain accurate records.
Person Profile
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with good presentation or training experience.
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
* Proven organisational and time management skills.
* Previous experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role, ideally within plumbing, heating, or electrical assembly.
* Knowledge of hot water cylinder manufacturing or similar mechanical assembly processes (advantageous).
* Understanding of health and safety and quality control standards.
* Competent in basic IT and production reporting systems.
