Our organization is currently seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our Audit team in County Kerry. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and verifying client financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to legal requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to plan and conduct audits, prepare working papers, identify risks, and report findings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, execute, and complete audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients in accordance with auditing standards.
* Perform substantive testing, analytical review, and risk assessment procedures.
* Prepare clear and accurate working papers and audit reports.
* Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
* Review financial statements for compliance with relevant accounting frameworks.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and value-added recommendations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
* Minimum 2 years' audit experience in practice (medium practice experience an advantage).
* Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP and relevant auditing standards.
* Proficiency in accounting and audit software (e.g., CaseWare, Sage).
