Endoscopy Unit Manager
Job Description:
The Endoscopy Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Endoscopy unit, ensuring the provision of safe and efficient service to patients and colleagues.
Duties & Responsibilities:

2. Manage patient care to ensure highest professional standards using evidence-based care planning approach.
3. Provide high level of professional and clinical leadership.
4. Ensure safe, comprehensive nursing care to service users within guidelines laid out by NMBI.
5. Participate in teams/meetings/committees as appropriate, communicating and working with other team members.
6. Facilitate coordination, cooperation, and liaison across healthcare teams.
7. Plan and organize schedules within Endoscopy, in conjunction with ADON.
8. Supervise day-to-day activities of endoscopy team.
9. Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based policies, guidelines, and procedures for unit.
10. Lead accreditation process. Identify continuous quality improvements and develop quality programs in consultation with multi-disciplinary team.
11. Keep abreast of research and developments in nursing, update own knowledge, experience, and skills by continuous professional development.
13. Work effectively as member of multidisciplinary team promoting good teamwork and excellent patient care.
14. Manage communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
15. Provide staff leadership and motivation which is conducive to good working relations and work performance.
16. Manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
17. Takeresponsibility for all equipment such as endoscopy monitors, Dynamaps, suction apparatus, diathermy machines, light source, and photographic printer.
18. Ensure updating of Endoscopy register and ensure Endoscopy list is checked with PIMS and correct patient details are also on Endobase System.
19. Monitor safe and economic use of all supplies, considering at all times budgetary implications of implementing care and treatments.
20. Be familiar with stock management at unit level and how to access/order stock whilst always maintaining adequate stock levels to meet daily requirements.
21. Ensure patient is attached to monitoring equipment and oxygen and placed in correct position.
22. Assist Anaesthetist and consultant with drug preparation and any checks necessary.
