Behavioral Support Ontario (BSO) – Extendicare

As a valued member of our leadership team, you will act as our Responsive Behaviors Program expert, ensuring the program's goals are met within the home and managing staff performance as necessary.
This position is located at our Bayview Home in Toronto, Ontario.
What you’ll be doing
1. Coordinate the BSO interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds, working collaboratively with social work, pharmacy, and physicians.
2. Participate actively in the Professional Advisory Committee, Medical Advisory Committee, Quality Committee, and other teams as required.
3. Complete all required reports and statistics for the home, overseeing documentation related to behaviors.
4. Set goals, create action plans, and ensure follow-up is completed.
5. Analyze data, create, and present detailed reports on quality indicators and medication use.
What you bring
1. Currently registered as an RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certificates.
3. Extensive knowledge of P.I.E.C.E.S.TM, Gentle Persuasive Approach, U-First!, Montessori.
4. 3-5 years of experience in long-term care.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and skills working with individuals with dementia, delirium, mental health issues, addictions, neurological conditions, and those experiencing acute behavioral changes.
6. Commitment to the goals and principles of the Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) program.
7. Canadian certificate in Gerontology is considered an asset.
