About this role
Leading a team of engineers as part of the wider Product Platform portfolio focused on enabling application teams to build secure, compliant and operationally efficient products.
Continuously investing in our identity, privacy, anti-fraud and internal tooling solutions to keep us operationally efficient.
Ensure regulatory compliance, minimizing exposure risk and keeping us at a high level of Enterprise Grade to meet the expectation of our enterprise B2B clients.
Building foundational product platform capabilities that solidify Udemy Business’ position as the top AI-powered upskilling solution in the industry.
What you’ll be doing
Working with your engineering team along with your cross-functional partners in product, design, data science, product marketing, and others to build a roadmap, deliver features, manage execution, and identify areas for development.
Using skills like driving results, analytical problem solving, systems thinking, decision making, and active listening to effectively lead engineering teams.
Growing your team, their careers, and tracking their performance through 1-on-1s and annual reviews.
Working with senior management to strategize resource allocation.
Prioritizing execution of tasks and projects, delegating to your technical leads and other team members as appropriate.
Incorporating feedback from your team and managers to continuously improve your team’s execution and ability to achieve your team’s goals.
Extending your networking skills within and beyond the organization—maintaining key relationships and providing mentoring to your team.
What you’ll have
1‑3 years of experience managing software engineers with a focus on constant flow of feedback and career development.
Experience defining strategy, roadmaps and prioritising work in your area in close collaboration with your Product and Design counterparts.
A proven track record of timely and high‑quality product delivery.
Experience working in a highly collaborative environment that involves product managers, design and stakeholders.
Experience with designing scalable systems with an emphasis on microservices and event‑driven architecture.
Experience designing scalable, secure and performant APIs (REST, GraphQL).
Experience with web application development in technologies such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
