Senior Leadership Role in Private Equity-Backed Professional Services Firm | Dublin (Exclusive Search)
We are supporting a private equity-backed professional services firm who are hiring for a Key Strategic and Operational Position in the accountancy and advisory sector.
The business is part of a global network and is entering a high-growth phase, with an active buy-and-build strategy at the centre of its growth plans.
They are seeking a hands-on, commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, support multiple acquisitions, and work closely with the leadership team to scale the business rapidly.
The role offers the opportunity to work with an outstanding CEO who has built an exceptional track record in this sector.
About the Role
This is a senior financial leadership position within the business, working in close partnership with the leadership team and shareholders.
The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model.
The CFO will play a central role in driving acquisition-led growth, leading transactions from diligence through execution and integration, and building a robust group accounting, reporting, and integration framework to support a growing multi-entity structure.
This is not a passive role - it requires a CFO who is comfortable being hands-on, detail-focused, and directly involved throughout the deal lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership: Drive and implement financial strategy while ensuring the finance function scales effectively as the group grows through acquisition.
Act as a core member of the leadership team, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.
Acquisition & Integration: Lead financial due diligence, deal structuring, and execution.
Own post-acquisition integration across systems, people, and processes, and establish repeatable frameworks to support future acquisitions.
Systems & Process Optimisation: Lead finance system migration and optimisation (e.g.
Xero).
Improve financial and operational processes, including group reporting and consolidation, across multiple entities.
Compliance & Governance: Maintain strong financial governance and controls in a regulated environment.
Manage auditor relationships and ensure group structures and acquisition activity remain compliant as the business scales.
Corporate Finance Leadership: Lead the development of corporate finance services as a strategic revenue stream.
Support client advisory across structuring, tax, and financial strategy.
Team & Resource Management: Manage internal and outsourced finance teams.
Build capacity through targeted hiring and subcontracting.
What We're Looking For
A proven CFO with the commercial judgement, technical depth, and execution capability to operate in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment.
Essential Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA)
Significant post-qualification experience
Strong technical accounting background, including group consolidation and multi-entity reporting
Demonstrated experience supporting multiple acquisitions and integration
Experience scaling a business, ideally in a private equity-backed or acquisition-heavy context
Highly Desirable
Experience building repeatable acquisition and integration frameworks
Strong systems implementation experience (Xero or similar)
Comfortable operating under pressure, tight timelines, and high accountability
