Role
Civil Engineer
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any time, embracing a 'one team' culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on site.
Be familiar with the HSQE management system and procedures in conjunction with statutory requirements.
Provide coverage and manage day‑to‑day operation of the site when the project manager is absent.
Understand programme and budgets, recognizing impact of overruns.
Review and develop specifications, design drawings and solve design‑based issues.
Use GPS, total station and 3D scanner for setting out and collecting As‑Built information.
Complete technical reports, quality documentation, safety files, O&M and monthly progress reports.
Ensure design, materials and workmanship meet specified requirements.
Use procurement software to order and award materials and subcontracts.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, site staff and commercial resources.
Facilitate weekly whiteboard meetings, planning efficient and safe delivery.
Interact daily with employer representatives, stakeholders and public.
Stay informed on latest standards and technology via continuous professional development (CPD).
Show eagerness to learn, progress and mentor junior staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Team‑oriented project delivery; provide input at meetings, engage suppliers and subcontractors during procurement and delivery.
Strong initiative, problem‑solving and adaptation skills.
Good working knowledge of MS Office, GPS, total station and CAD.
Strong communication skills and high motivation.
Full driving licence.
