Solance is building the next tier of finance, blending Credit Suisse’s service DNA with Revolut’s tech genius. We’re preparing for an early‑2026 launch as an EM1‑licenced entity and are looking for a COO to build the operational engine from scratch.
Role
The first Chief Operating Officer will own day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth payment flows, vendor and partner relationships, regulatory readiness, and a culture of agility and ownership. This role is hands‑on, not an executive office; you’ll roll up sleeves and solve challenges as they arise while scaling our core processes.
Responsibilities
Build and oversee day‑to‑day operations across payments, technology, fraud prevention/detection, first‑line defence, safeguarding, onboarding, vendor management, and internal processes.
Take ownership of DORA alignment, embedding operational resilience across all operational layers.
Design, improve, and implement workflows, playbooks, tools, and operational tooling for internal workflows, reporting, customer support, and outsourcing partner management.
Adopt a hands‑on mindset: whether troubleshooting payment flows, onboarding a vendor, or restocking the fridge, you’re involved at every level.
Work with banking, payments, and tech partners to run operations smoothly and cost‑effectively.
Partner closely with Risk & Compliance to meet AML/CTF obligations, regulatory and legal reporting, outsourcing rules, incident management, and all EMI operational requirements.
Govern operations across regulatory, legal, audit, and financial requirements.
Shape Solance’s startup DNA: build a culture that eliminates politics and red tape, moving fast with smart people.
Requirements
6‑10 years of experience in payments, operations, or fintech leadership, ideally at an EMI, bank, or high‑growth startup.
PCF‑42 readiness: positioned to sign off with the Central Bank of Ireland without hesitation.
Practical experience in implementing and managing effective financial crime controls within payments or e‑money operations.
Experience dealing with major financial crime incidents and engaging with regulators or auditors on remedial actions.
Strong understanding of DORA requirements and proven ability to align an organization with regulatory expectations.
Well‑connected in the payments and banking ecosystem; able to leverage industry contacts to move fast.
Startup‑driven, energetic, and allergic to corporate bureaucracy.
Thrives under pressure, adapts quickly, and finds solutions fast.
Approachable, positive, and ready to muck in wherever needed.
Recently achieved COO‑level responsibility and eager to build a company from the ground up.
Resident in the Republic of Ireland.
