ATG are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join a dynamic environmental consultancy team based in Dublin.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, execution, and management of a range of hydrogeological projects, providing expert insight and leadership to support sustainable water management, environmental compliance, and land development projects across Ireland and internationally.
Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead and manage hydrogeological investigations and projects, including groundwater resource assessments, groundwater quality monitoring, aquifer testing, and contamination assessments.
Technical Expertise: Provide advanced hydrogeological expertise, including groundwater flow modeling, risk assessments, and environmental impact assessments (EIAs).
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of groundwater data, including water level monitoring, water quality sampling, and geophysical data.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, including the Water Framework Directive and groundwater quality standards.
Client Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing technical advice and reporting on project progress.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to identify business opportunities.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance in technical skills and project delivery.
Promote best practices in hydrogeology within the team.
Report Writing: Prepare detailed technical reports, risk assessments, and environmental impact assessments for submission to clients and regulatory bodies.
Business Development: Contribute to business growth by identifying new project opportunities, participating in tender preparation, and building relationships with new and existing clients.
Fieldwork: Supervise and conduct fieldwork, including drilling, well installation, groundwater sampling, and aquifer testing.
Ensure all field activities follow health and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
A Master's degree in Hydrogeology or a closely related discipline is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in hydrogeology, preferably in a consultancy or environmental services role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in groundwater modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW), GIS applications, and relevant data analysis tools.
Strong understanding of groundwater hydrology, contamination remediation, and aquifer testing.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Irish and EU environmental regulations related to groundwater, such as the Water Framework Directive, Groundwater Directive, and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
Salary : €130,000 to €140,000 Per Annum
